Recreational Therapy Assistant

A Fun and Creative Career Helping Others!

Western Piedmont Community College’s Recreational Therapy Assistant degree program will give you the skills needed to develop recreational activities that promote independence, confidence, and rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses. Classes are engaging and help students learn to facilitate recreational therapy interventions with a variety of client groups. Students learn to adapt games (board and video) in order to address client treatment goals, teach teambuilding skills in a variety of treatment settings, and utilize creative expressive arts to build client skills.

What You Will Study

Associate in Applied Science

The A.A.S. degree in Recreational Therapy requires 69 hours of coursework, which can be completed in two years of full-time study.
